چکیده

Real-time Java is emerging as a platform for building mission-critical embedded systems. The real-time variants of Java, including [3], [4], are attractive alternatives to Ada and C as they provide a cleaner, simpler, and safer programming model. Unfortunately, current real-time Java implementations have trouble scaling down to very hard realtime embedded settings, where memory is scarce and processing power is limited. In this poster, we describe a new real-time Java implementation, the fVM, intended for use in avionics, space, and cyber-physical systems.

Enhancing OSGi with real-time Java support

Although OSGi was designed with embedded systems in mind, its current support is insufficient for coping with one main characteristic of many embedded systems: real-time performance. This article analyzes different key issues in providing OSGi with real-time Java performance covering motivational issues, and different integration ways and challenges stemmed from the integration. It also contrib...

Poster Abstract : A Cyber-physical Middleware Framework for Continuous Monitoring of Water Distribution Systems

The middleware for a cyber-physical system is crucial as it tightly integrates computation with physical processes to achieve better reliability, distributed coordination, higher precision and efficiency, and better autonomous control. In this work, we design and develop the cyber-physical middleware framework for a large-scale water distribution system monitoring effort.

A Methodology for Unified Assessment of Physical and Geographical Dependencies of Wide Area Measurement Systems in Smart Grids

Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS) enable real time monitoring and control of smart grids by combining digital measurement devices, communication and control systems. As WAMS consist of various infrastructures, they imply complex dependencies among their underlying systems and components of different types, such as cyber, physical and geographical dependencies. Although several works exist in...
